a tutor of Spanish language and culture with 21 years teaching experience that provides very personalised lessons of Spanish language, thoroughly teaching students the frame, structure and tools to help them learn and enjoy Spanish language and culture.

What is my methodology?
I use the communicative method which includes a lot of interaction.
We follow a book but also combine it with other useful materials to provide a useful and enjoyable lesson that meets your needs.
I teach using textbooks but also through conversation, my lessons are very interactive.
I use questions and answers, round robin technique, role plays, reading newspaper articles, poems, listening and learning songs, looking at recipes, photos, maps, etc. to make classes very interactive.
I take on board what the student is interested in, like films, travel, art, or sport so I try to engage them using their interests as topic for learning and conversation.

I have been a Spanish language student for many years with Claudia and I have to say it has been the best way I have found to improve my Spanish . I am part of a weekly conversational ( Tertulias ) Spanish class that we hold in various members houses and as part of the advanced group we all speak in Spanish as best we can and we are guided in a very friendly and interesting manner by Claudia .

I joined Claudia’s Spanish class (intermediate level) three and a half years ago, moved to Zoom classes in March 2019 and now attend classes both on Zoom and face to face.
My aim was to make progress in speaking Spanish and I am very pleased to feel I am making good progress with this aim through talking and listening with Claudia and fellow students in class, listening to Spanish from the peninsula and Latin American countries by Internet, attending pub quizzes with native and local Spanish speakers, and visits to Spanish and Latin American restaurants and bars.
Claudia includes some formal teaching in her classes and lots of interesting information on Spanish and South American cultures.
Claudia’s classes are enjoyable and have led me to feel much more confident in my aim to develop as a Spanish speaker.
My favourite Spanish word? Imprescindible
Para dominar un idioma es imprescindible hablar, escuchar y leerlo mucho.

Para dominar un idioma es imprescindible hablar, escuchar y leerlo mucho.
At the very outset, being a teacher myself, I had very high expectations of Claudia. Her tutoring has always been of a very high standard, not only her in depth knowledge of her language but her inspirational, caring and skilful methods.
I have been encouraged and congratulated in equal measure resulting in me developing a more confident attitude and achieving a level of fluency I never thought I would reach. Claudia enjoys life and is always providing info re a concert here, a dance there, a meal coming soon!! She is incredibly busy, it’s a good job she is such a brilliant runner as she has to sprint from one activity to another!
If I had to choose again, I would definitely choose to learn Spanish with Claudia.
